About Me

Hey wow, thanks for clicking on this section. I'm honored!

Well since you asked...

I'm a 30-something daughter of God by adoption because my big brother Jesus worked it out for me. I'm also the manager/operator of an addictively fun household, founded by my airline pilot husband (a.k.a. The Captain) and me in 2001. Our little house is also inhabited by three Short People and a pup. My elder daughter, Winkerbean, is an athletic, tenderhearted 11-year-old. My second daughter, Sweet Pea, is a 9-year-old budding humorist and semi-professional procrastinator. My shortest Short Person, Mr. Boy, is my 4-year-old cuddle buddy. He's the human equivalent of Jell-O—colorful, sweet, almost never stops wiggling.  The pup, Sally Jane, is a dark chocolate lab mixed with just enough shar pei to make her petite with a freckled tongue.

I have done many kinds of work before finally making my way up the ladder to Homemaker, including grocery bagging; waitressing; in-home elder and child care; helping with activities at a nursing home; teaching high school art, history, geography, English, K-12 music, and homeschool; even spinning tunes as a DJ at a couple different radio stations. I have to say, being a wife/mommy/homemaker has been my favorite occupation overall so far. The benefits package is unbelievable!

The result of all this flitting about has been that I've developed quite a diversified (read: expensive) pool of interests and hobbies! They include writing, photography, singing, quilting, sewing, crafting, beading, cooking, baking, drawing, painting, digital art, bicycle riding, child training, dog training, homeschooling, reading, attempting to understand the Bible (thank you Holy Spirit for that!), watching Dr. Who and other lovely programmes, collecting My Little Ponies, speaking with ridiculous accents, and engaging in a good pun war.

And now, apparently, blogging.

Thanks for sharing my journey with me!
